August 2018

During the month of August 2018, the planets Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, and Venus will be visible in the evening sky. (To see a closer view, click on the image.)

Venus is the extremely bright "star" visible after sunset above the western horizon. Jupiter will appear slightly less bright and above the southwestern horizon after sunset, Saturn is slightly fainter than Jupiter and rising in the southeast after sunset, and Mars will be brighter than Saturn, rising right above the eastern horizon.
